Payhuddle assists one of the leading domestic schemes in developing a certification board process for the acquirer, issuer, and terminal certifications

Context

The customer is a leading domestic scheme in the Middle East that helps banks issue payment cards for their customers for ATMs and merchant transactions. They also connect with other international payment schemes through partnerships.

The customer sought a unified web-based platform capable of accommodating multiple users, aiming to simplify and cut down manual administrative tasks by 70% across the certification process for acquirers, issuers, and terminals.

This case study provides a concise overview of how Payhuddle developed a certification board tailored to the customer's needs.

What did we do?

We used our existing web-based host testing platform, Lithos, and developed the certification board process. We architected the certification board process with different user roles and responsibilities to cater to the scheme's needs.

Lithos is a self-testing platform that does not require extra resources to manage and certify the banks and terminal vendors. It can simulate all the stakeholders, like the acquirers, issuers, and the network, which reduces the management and administrative costs for the scheme.

As the system is centralized, the acquiring and issuing banks can use the latest updated test plans from the scheme and complete the testing and certification process. They can also track the test progress of each entity from a centralized dashboard.

What challenges did we address during this project?
  1. Building a single platform to cater to the needs of acquirers, issuers, and terminal vendors with varying processes was intricate, requiring careful consideration of user roles, access levels, and data segregation.
  2. The platform had to be scalable to handle high volumes of certification requests.
  3. Bringing together different stakeholders with their defined processes needed efforts to standardize protocols and harmonize workflows within the platform.
  4. The platform had to be configurable to update the evolving regulations of the scheme and industry standards.

Our platform, Lithos, was able to address all of these challenges with ease.

Benefits for the customer

The scheme can now deploy this platform to certify their acquirers, issuers, and terminal vendors.

Multi-user, parallel testing is possible, allowing stakeholders to perform their testing and certification without waiting for the slots.

The web-based platform has a centralized report management dashboard, which provides stakeholders with visibility on their certification status.

It helps the scheme process test cases and complete the certification process faster.

With this solution, the scheme saves about 70% of the manual administrative work required for certifications.
